Anyway ... If you need to talk to someone about things ... I'm here for you. I know it can be really hard to keep all of that in.

[Again, for a moment or two, Takeru didn't know what to say back. While it was nice to see someone else who knew about Digimon?

There was a part of him that wasn't too sure if he should say anything about it.]

...Yeah but...how do I talk about it? It's...really a lot to cover and not to mention that there's a chance you might get hurt too.

Don't worry about me so much. I'm tough. I can handle whatever comes my way.

[ Really, man, her brother falcon paunches Digimon regularly. And on an emotional level, well ... she's seen some shit, too. ]

Do you want to start with the first time you went to the digital world?

... Or if you don't want to talk at all, that's okay too. I just want to make sure you know that I'm here if you need me.

I care about you a lot, you know ... you and all of our other friends.

[See that? Now that just makes Takeru feel even worse! Ahhh, what was he suppose to do here? He wants to keep it a secret but at the same time, he knows that he can't!]

Well....the first time I went there, I was 7 at the time with my friends. And at first, all we had to do was defeat Devimon and we could go back home.

But...I guess just a lot of evil things just didn't want that to happen. And it's starting to worry me if it might be happening again here in the real world.

[ Her eyes widen. ]

You were seven when you went there the first time? Holy cow! I was ten when I met Piyomon and I've never been to the digital world!

[ If he saw even half the shit she did when the digimon came to the real world then he must have been pretty messed up. Going to the digital world that young, though? He probably saw a lot more of it. Her father was a grown man, and her brother was a teenager when they went to that world for the first time. If she has ever gone back then ...

She was seeing her friend in a new light now. Getting thrown into the thick of things at that age was rough. It wasn'T like Ikuto, who had been transported there as a baby and raised as a digimon for most of his life ... ]

[And thinking back on it? It wasn't something he was really proud of. While it was pretty cool to see all those Digimon and how awesome they were, he quickly realized how dangerous it all was.

Not to mention leaving him some scars ~~that will not heal~~ will last him a lifetime]

Well, let me tell you, if you're not careful? It can be a really dangerous place to be in! There's a lot of Digimon that are always after you! And you don't have a choice but to fight really.

[Something at he didn't like but...]

... Sounds like the perfect place for my brother. People look at him funny and he wants to fight them.

[ Siiigh, Masaru ... but she does miss him terribly. He was the male figure in her life for 10 years, and as dumb as her brother is, she still adores him. ]

[...see that? you get this look from takeru!]

Wait...you're saying he wants to fight them? As in, he fights them himself? ...Physically?

[because seriously??]

[ HAHA YOUR FACE. ]

Yep! I mean, he works with Agu-chan, too, and he only fights them if he needs to ... or if they want to ...

Apparently fighting is how he met Agu-chan!! Masaru-niichan told me that he and Agu-chan fought when they first met, and it was a draw. Since then, Agu-chan has respected him and became his follower.

[.....]

Well, my friends and I never had to fight with them in order for them to be our partner. One day, we just ended up on the Digital World and they told us that we were their partners. And that no matter what, they were going to protect us.

[pause]

And through our growth, that's how they manage to evolve and beat all the things that came our way. Although, we never had to physically fight them....

[nope not going to get over that!]

It's okay! Not everyone does. My brother's just special.

[ So damn special. Not always in a good way. ]

I'm pretty sure that's not how Yoshino-neechan and Touma-niichan met their partners. And it's definitely not how I met Piyomon.

Though ... Piyomon and I were never officially 'partners,' not by DATS standards.

[Now that's a new word he never heard of]

Then that's just weird, I don't think I ever heard of DATS before. But usually when we meet up with a digimon, they end up as partners.

The important thing was if they got along and if they were compatible...

[At least, that's how he remembered it anyway]

Huh? Well, I guess it makes sense that you wouldn't know about DATS, most people who don't know about Digimon didn't ...

... But you know about Digimon.

[ She thinks for a bit. Was it possible that there were more eggs that fell to their world that went undetected? ]

Maybe DATS didn't know about you ... You might have stayed under their radar. Otherwise, they probably would have tried to recruit you.

[ She sat back against the back of the bench, puffing her cheeks out a bit in frustration. ]

This is really confusing! I don't get any of it!

[ ... ANYWAY. ]

... So, ah. Yeah. What are we going to do about the Digimon appearing here again?

[ Note. She said we. Don't you try to protect her, Takeru. ]

[The more that Takeru thought about it, the more this was confusing him! First there was all these Digimon popping into the their world and now this? What next?

But either way, he just sighed before scratching the back of his head]

If that's the case, it seems like they didn't know about my friends either. They didn't say anything about DATS or anything.

[Although...] Who are DATS anyway? Maybe we can talk to them and figure something out?

[HMMMMM]

[ She shakes her head a little bit in response to that. ]

DATS was disbanded a long time ago. There are still some people I keep in touch with who were part of DATS that I can talk to, but I don't know how much help and of them are gonna be with their partners back in the Digital World.

[ BUT SHE SHOULD PROBABLY EXPLAIN DATS. ]

DATS was an organization that worked with Digimon to try and keep them from going rogue in our world. I guess in a way, it was to keep the knowledge of their existence from most humans ...

The acronym stood for 'Digital Accident Tactics Squad.' My brother and Ikuto-kun were both a part of DATS.

[See that? Now that's the sound of Takeru humming to himself a little]

I guess that's not that much different from the organization that we encountered a while back. Although, I'm not sure if they know about DATS or if they're a part of them.

The only thing I know is that they're counting on us to protect the real world but even then...

[He gave a sigh] There's only so much we know about and it's kind of frustrating me. Just what can we do? All I want is to protect everyone but when there's nothing to go off on?

...I feel like I'm running in circles.

Hey ...

[ She hesitates for a moment, but she does get brave and reach to gently grasp his hand into her own. ]

It'll be okay. Things might get kind of bad ... but we'll find a way to make it right. It always happens that way ...

[As she does so, that surprised him for a moment. He just stared at her before chuckling to himself]

Y-Yeah, I guess you're right. If we managed to save the Digital World and here twice, I'm sure we can do it again!

[But still...] But what about you? Are you going to be okay in the meantime?

[ She blinks at him, confused. ]

Well ... there's really not much I can do right now but support you guys. I don't exactly go up to random Digimon and punch them in the face like my brother does.

[ She smiles, awkwardly. ]

I could tell my Papa what I know about you and your friends, to see if he can do something more to help. He has one of those 'never give up' attitudes, so, he'd find something.

... But I don't want to tell him anything if you don't want me to.

Although, if your brother's blood run through you, I wouldn't be surprised if you could.

Maybe you're the scariest Digimon out there.

[Okay, joking aside, that didn't stop him from worrying a little. ...Or a lot.

However, the more he thought about it?]

No, I think it would be a good idea to tell him. We don't know anything or what's going to happen. We're going to need all the help we can get. The problem is that we should talk to Taichi-san and the others about this.

But I don’t know how they’re going to feel about this.

Ha ... very funny.

[ To be fair though, she's probably the strongest of that group in particular. They just never really knew what she was capable of because she wasn't allowed to fully be a part of it. ]

'Kay. I won't say anything. Papa's really smart, though, and it's not going to take long before he realizes he needs to do something to help. He might not know about you guys, but the Digimon suddenly appearing is probably a big red flag to him already.

I think it'll be a big red flag to anyone really. And there's only so much that before someone's gonna notice that something's not right. For us, we already knew something seemed off but we don't know what to do yet.

[Which is why you'll get a mumble in return]

It's just frustrating when there's all this in front of us and we don't even know where to start! I want to do something but when it seems like all of my friends want to do their own thing, it feels like we're not going to get a lot done.

[Like Taichi and Yamato fighting? Not to mention Jyou with his constant studying too...]

[ She sighs, leaning against him a little bit and resting her head on his shoulder. She was pretty tired, actually. Her subconscious seemed to think that Takeru made a decent pillow. ]

It'll straighten out somehow ... We're gonna do something about it.

[See that? Takeru couldn't help but flinch just a little. He definitely wasn't expecting to be a pillow for Chika! But then again, he couldn't bring himself to tell her no]

You really think so? I know I promised my brother I shouldn't lose hope but...it's starting to get a little difficult.

[ He flinched, and she felt it. She sat up with a start. She knew Takeru was a bit too nice for his own good sometimes, so she had to kind of keep a read on him ... she still didn't know him as well as she wanted to, though, so she wasn't always right about what he did and didn't want.

Murmuring a quick "Sorry," she then nodded in response to what he said. ]

Well, if you start to lose hope then ... I guess I'll just have to hope more for the both of us.
